Andrea Florence is an Emmy award-winning producer and founder member of Aquila Films. Andrea trained in natural sciences at Cambridge University and then travelled the globe producing and directing high rating shows for all the major broadcasters including BBC, Channel 4, ABC, WNET, A&E, National Geographic, and Discovery.
She has a proven track record of critical achievement including award-winning blue-chip wildlife shows, powerful obs. doc series with emotional narratives, ratings-winning celebrity and presenter-led factual entertainment series, fun CGI pop science extravaganzas, and ambitious, innovative landmark Golden Panda winning specials. She has developed and launched successful returnable long-running formats and lifestyle series and worked with presenters and contributors from Johnny Rotten to Prince Philip.
Her work has been recognised at the highest level and have won many acclaimed awards including an Emmy and New York Film Festival Gold Medal for her film Secrets of the Golden River filmed over a year on location in the Amazon rainforest, and Wildscreen Golden Panda for innovation with the special In the Womb: Extreme Animals.
Along with her producing and directing work, Andrea is also an accomplished photographer. Her stills – many which feature here – have appeared in numerous publications including National Geographic magazine.
